Having realized that traditional means of advertising were no longer working, Plainville, CT landscaping company Evangelista Enterprises came to us needing to develop a web presence. Their goals were simple: a prominent contact form, a place to present their work and some customer testimonials.
The site we designed and developed for Evangelista is appropriately simple as well. Just one page, the site is an effective (and very affordable) solution for small businesses who are looking to get up and running on the web, but not necessarily ready for a “full” web site.

Today we're happy to announce the launch of The Colbys new web site.
The Colbys came to us looking to expand upon their existing site, which Crucial designed and built back in 2008. The goal for the project was to reorganize content, modernize the look and improve functionality, both on the frontend and the backend. The design for the site is anchored by some responsive background images (meaning they scale with the size of your browser window) that showcase the Colbys doing what they do best: performing live. The site features booking information, news, audio & video clips, a list of songs the band performs, and puts the Colbys in the driver's seat on the backend with a custom implementation of CruCMS, which allows them to manage all of their web site content themselves.
Next up is a similar reimagining of John's personal site, www.colbymusic.com, which will be relaunching soon.
The Colbys are a Connecticut-based R & B/jazz-influenced party band led by Grammy & Emmy Award winner John Colby (Music Director ESPN ESPYs, NASCAR Awards) and Bev Rohlehr (Persuasions, National Jazz Ensemble, Mel Lewis Orchestra). John's the guy who wrote the Sportscenter theme music, among many other notable pieces.

This was another project with a quick turnaround for us, and we were tasked with not only updating the old site's nearly 6 year old design, but to untangle the backend from Wordpress and simplify things by integrating CruCMS, our homegrown Content Management System.

We love pressure, and we wear many hats here at Crucial. This time, our role was production and quality control. With just under a month to get the job done, Crucial helped relaunch www.ovationbenefits.com just in time for Ovation's speaking engagement/appearance at The Forum 11 event this week in San Francisco, CA. Ovation provided the design & content, and Crucial built, tested, and integrated content for the web site's 70 pages.
We've been excited to work with Ovation from the start of our first meeting with them. The best clients to work with are those that show passion for what they do, and Ovation exudes it in everything they do. We are ecstatic to be Ovation's web partner, and we can't wait to see what their future holds!
“From the moment George at Crucial answered the phone, I felt like Ovation’s website redesign was a priority for his team. The project needed to be completed in a very short amount of time which necessitated very organized and concise communication from both sides. At every step along the way, the team at Crucial guided and supported the project as if it were their own site, and they saw us through the project and out the other side tremendous results. I would not hesitate to recommend Crucial Networking. I am a raving fan, and look forward to working with them in the future.”
Ovation Benefits, established in 2002, is the national leader in Workforce Health Improvement and one of the largest independent benefit brokers in the nation, representing more than 250 employers and more than 100,000 individuals in 43 states. Though much of our work here at Crucial is web-related, we end up working on the occasional curveball like this...the design and printing of a self-published book. This is "The Rose Cleanse" by Natalia Rose; we designed the cover/interior layout and helped facilitate the printing of hard copies of the book using Amazon's CreateSpace.

Behold the power of analytics! In a routine review of portcanaveral.com analytics reports, we discovered that more than 25% of the traffic to portcanaveral.com comes from a mobile device. This is a very large constituency to be ignoring! The result is a plan to create a mobile-friendly version of the existing web site that will cater to specific needs of mobile visitors, namely providing an overview of the port and providing easy access to transportation services, maps, and local vendors that site visitors may take advantage of while visiting.

Newington resident Gina Cocce has had so many friends & family members afflicted with various (scary) health issues, and she has decided to do something about it. Gina has started A Silent Wish, LLC, an organization whose web site will serve as a support community for those afflicted with serious illnesses & diseases, as well as the families of those very people. Oftentimes when diagnosed with a serious illness like cancer, a patient and their family spend so much time in doctor's offices that they need support from people that have experienced similar situations. The site promises to offer support, an open dialogue amongst community members, as well as inspirational stories from members who “have made it” and are thriving despite their issues. This is a VERY rewarding project and something we are very happy to be involved with!
