American Yogini is a luxurious, yet "homey" boutique retreat center located in the Hamptons, specializing in raw juice fasting, vegetarian feasting, holistic beauty and exciting art and yoga adventures around the world.
The gracious host of American Yogini, Mary McGuire, has been creating workshops and retreats as a way to teach yoga in a whole new way, by taking it "off the mat" and into the kitchens, homes, adventures and even the world of artists around the world.
Mary came to us with a business that was growing at a rapid rate, and a web site that just couldn't keep up. American Yogini, by nature, is something that needs to be on the cutting edge, offering an abundance of information and resources in a manner that is informative and easily accessible.

Knowing the limitations of Mary's existing site, Crucial Networking made the decision to recreate American Yogini's web presence from scratch. Focusing first on how to present the site content in the most cohesive, user-friendly manner possible, Crucial then got to work crafting the look of the site, creating a sophisticated and engaging design with an understated feminine undertone that would appeal directly to Mary's core audience. Further expounding on this, the decision was also made to create a site optimized for a 1024x768 monitor resolution, due in part to the volume of content to be presented, but also as a nod to the web-savvy nature of the demographic American Yogini would be appealing to (users with newer, faster computers, high-speed internet connections, and higher monitor resolutions).
The new American Yogini web site is a rich multi-media experience, offering such things as an interactive flash presentation (home page), audio podcasts, free downloadable video, and flash-based image galleries. The site is powered by a php/xml-based Content Management System that allows the American Yogini staff complete control of their content. Though users can currently register for retreats on the web site, plans for the immediate future include incorporation of a payment gateway to allow users to not only register but also pay for retreats right from the American Yogini web site. Additionally, a "Members Only" section of the site will soon debut, featuring exclusive audio/video content, a message board, a weekly chat, and more.

The success of the new American Yogini web site is evidenced by the tremendous growth seen in 2006, as well as some notable press from the likes of The New York Times, amNY, The Hartford Courant, and Steppin' Out. With a measurable increase in attendance and retreats booked solid year-round, American Yogini shows no signs of slowing.
