Formerly the singer for bands such as the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Peaceful Knievel, and Double Trouble, Mike Farris is set to release a new solo record entitled "Salvation in Lights" on INO Records on June 26, 2007. The new record finds the singer following a decidedly more spiritual path, producing soulful, uplifting songs in the spirit of Al Green and Otis Redding before him, with lush arrangements replete with backing singers, piano, horns, and more.
**Crucial Networking's role for this project was to design a web presence for Mike Farris that matched the feeling of the record he is set to release in late spring. Featuring many songs from the deep south dating back to the early 1900s, the record has a decidedly vintage feel. In Farris' own words, the songs sound like "turn of the century black gospel with a big spoonful of Memphis soul." Upon hearing the songs and discussing the "vibe" with Farris, it was decided that a look that was "warm, welcoming, gritty and weathered" would be the most fitting approach.
Additionally, a Content Management System is being developed that will allow Mike to update the site quickly and easily from the road, as well as keep in touch with his fans by utilizing an easy-to-use mailing list application.
